IntroductionBen: Having grown up in the Middle East and India, Ben first arrived in Canada in 1999 as a student. He returned as a landed immigrant in 2003 and now works for the government as a scientist. He feels that to truely achieve his citizenship, he should earn it through a unique sacrifice. Upon hearing about the historic canoe routes that passed through his own Northern Ontario city (Sault Ste. Marie), he was committed to completing the trip as part of his "Journey of Citizenship". Facebook profile at http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=556400076 ______ - ______ - Ross: Is a native of Sault Ste. Marie and has always been involved in the outdoors. Having worked previously as an interpretive guide at various national historic sites, he developped a keen interest in Canadian history. Along with travelling, he currently enjoys leading educational trips for students covering mainly Ontario and Quebec.
InterestsWe are interested in celebrating Canadian Citizenship by completing a canoe journey along traditional Native, Explorer, Fur trade, and an important route for the development of Canada. We feel that the trip (over 3-4 weeks) will increase our understanding of our country along with providing a link with our home (the city of Sault Ste. Marie) and the Capital of our Nation, Canada.
