| Introduction | I'm Jane; I live outside of DC with Jim and our two cats Sherman and O'Brien (Obie). We're both reluctant urbanites. I grew up in a big, boisterous, Italian family from the country. You can see pasture and cows from my parents’ front porch, and each summer, it would be a struggle to eat all the fresh vegetables that came out of my dad's garden. So here we are, stuck in the city... traffic, neighbors, and not enough soil to grow a proper basil plant, much less a garden. But we’re still trying to do things the fresh, homemade, from scratch way – and satisfy our taste for the unusual. We’ll try to keep things updated regularly – and we’re both busy professionals, so we’ll try to include some easy/make ahead recipes as well – cause we don’t like to compromise on fresh and homemade, but we also like to sleep. You’ll also get to meet our cats, Sammy and Sherman, who believe they are the most important thing in the house – which of course they are, so they’ll also be our mascots for our blog. Also, Jim and I hate having our pictures taken. |
