| Introduction | Shalom, my name is Rabbi Michael Lemming, and I am a progressive,left-wing, orthodox rabbi committed to the principles of Tikkun Olam. I am proud to live in the city of Haifa, which is a model of Arab and Israeli tolerance and coexistence. I am the founder and Rosh Hayeshiva of the prestigious Yeshiva "Har Shalom" where we teach our students to love "the stranger", whether he, she, or it, be a Palestinian refugee, or a member of the gay/lesbian, bisexual, vegisexual, transvestite, transsexual, or transgender community. I also head the peace group "Yishmael loves Yisroel" which was created to show Jews that our Arab/Muslim brethren really do love us, even though they don't know it themselves. Currently there are no Arab members. As a licensed psychologist, I work with many Jewish homosexuals who are searching for a place in Orthodox Judaism. My cutting edge internet show "The Rabbi Lemming Show" has developed a cult following due to its progressive message, which is a radical departure from contemporary orthodox distortions of Judaism, and a return to the humanistic Judaism of the prophets. |
