| Introduction | Did you hear about the woman in Portland who had four of her own kids, 20 foster kids (not all at once), three cats, two dogs and a man, and she still has all her own hair? It was me. This blog's purpose is to teach adults, then give ideas to teach children character-building, responsible, yet fun ways to get them to remember it all. One day she sold everything they didn't need to use every day, kicked out the big kids, packed up the little ones, three cats, two dogs and the man. We ended up in Ketchikan, Alaska, where we lived the summer in our huge tent with a wood-stove and bunk beds in it. We stayed eight years, but only three months was in the tent. My husband's father became ill and we had to return to Oregon. Our goal was to come back to Alaska in 6 months, but then I got cancer and it kept us here. I’m in full remission as of March 2014. |
