| Introduction | I spent 40 years in journalism, a span split between UPI and AP. The demise of UPI was a great loss to journalism, one I chronicle in fictional form in my book "Philip's Code:No News is Good News - To a Killer." : Any similarity to any news agency, living or dead, was purely intentional. I retired in 2000, when I was freed of professional inhibitions and was able to write my muckraker. I saw stories that showed more bias than a used prom dress, to the point that some papers should be called "The Daily Double Standard, Conduit and Shill." With so many mergers, not so far fetched if truth in advertising laws were invoked. |

| Favorite movies | Casablanca, Fort Apache, The Departed, any Hitchcock, any musical, and any love story in which they don't kiss with their mouths open. |
| Favorite music | Big band swing. All classical and cowboy songs. Some light jazz. Can't stand opera. |
