Introduction Nearly 15 million people experience depression each year. No wonder it is so prevalent. All we see on the news is the bad economy, car accidents, diseases, murders, robberies, etc. Not only the news, but also TV shows, books & movies seem to be following this trend. I'm sick of the "Life sucks and then you die" attitude America has adopted. The two of us don't want to become Debbie Downers. In order to prevent this we, Monica Drake & Kristy Lapanowski, decided to make a blog to show people that there still is happy and inspirational things going on in the world everyday. This world is still a great place. Everyone is just so busy looking at the bad that they forget to see the good. Monica Drake is a 2010 graduate of Oakland University with of Bachelor of Arts in journalism. She is a part-time reporter for northern Oakland County for the Oakland Press & has interned at the Lake Orion Review & a PR company for hospitals. Kristy Lapanowski is a senior at OU. She is a communications major, interested in journalism work. She is currently an intern at the Oakland Post & is public relations co-chair for Phi Sigma Sigma.
