| Introduction | Karin Rindal’s interested in gardening and botany was inspired as a child by her paternal grandfather who loved lilacs and maternal grandmother who was an amateur mycologist. But it was a trip to Green Animals Garden in Newport, RI and the discovery of a Morris County Master Gardener program announcement that set off a chain of training experiences that lead Karin to the Frelinghuysen Arboretum in Morristown where she was a Morris County Park Commission Educational Assistant in the Cutting Garden the summer of 2006. Karin was also co-chair of the Friends of the Frelinghuysen Annual Plant Sale from 2006 to 2008 where she organized and executed the three day fundraising plant sale involving 10,000 plant purchases from twelve vendors. For the last three years she has selected and purchased spring bulbs as part of the Morris County Master Gardener fundraising table at the State Master Gardener conference. She has been a Morris County Master Gardener since 2006. She is also a member of the Short Hills Home Garden Club and participates in its floral design competitions. Karin regularly writes and lectures on a variety of gardening-related topics. |
