| Introduction | Katchie is an internationally-recognized Yoga and Dharma teacher whose leadership in yoga and social change prompted Yoga Journal to name her one of five top yoga teachers making change in the world. Katchie has over 20 years of experience as a full-time yoga teacher and trainer, and is certified in Anusara, Jivamukti and Integral yoga, as well as extensively trained in Ashtanga Vinyasa by Richard Freeman. Deeply inspired by, and committed to her teacher and mentor, Jack Kornfield, Katchie is an avid practitioner of Vipassana Meditation. She has studied with Jack for over 15 years and has “sat” numerous 10 and 30-day silent meditation retreats under his guidance. She is the co-founder of Yoga Sangha, now Yoga Kula, a studio in San Francisco renowned for its focus on “Spiritual Activation” and social change. She works frequently with authors and activists such as John Robbins, Julia Butterfly Hill and Milena Moser and is dedicated to raising awareness about human and animal rights, the environment and social justice in her yoga classes. When not traveling, she lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico, with her husband and dog. |
