| Introduction | Dr. A K Singh Singh is professor of Art History and Director of Bharat Kala Bhavan(University Museum)of Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India. He expertises in Western Himalayan Art History and Central asian art, particularly covering the regions of Ladakh,Zanskar, Kargil, Kashmir, Lahul-Spiti and Kinnaur. He earned his Ph D on Trans Himalayan Wall Paintings of 10th-11th century in 1981. He has been working in the are since 1975 and has published many research papers, books and has propagated the discipline abroad. He is preparing a comprehensive digital photo archive of the cultural heritage of the Western Himalayas. His most commendable work is documentation of bronze cult images from the households of the regions. |
