| Introduction | About a month after purchasing a bicycle on a spur of the moment decision at a school auction, I decided that it wasn’t enough- I wanted more. Three factors led me to the original purchase: to help the school raise money, it was pretty, and I could use a new outdoor exercise routine. After taking it out, I realized I didn’t do my homework, and I wanted something new- something better. I then began the innovation process of my new hybrid. I noted the relative advantages the hybrid has over the Schwinn mountain bike: I noticed the compatibility to how and where I would ride the bike; I researched the complexity of the new bike and saw the benefits of these traits; I was able to ride the bike before buying it; I observed others on the trail, noting what type of bike was suitable for what type of rider. Through this process, I finally purchased a bike that was perfect for me. |
