| Introduction | I'm an individual value investor that focuses on small and micro-caps, but will buy stock in any size business where I see value. I'm focused on understanding the business in detail and valuing the business in a way that I think is appropriate for the company, segment and market. I look for companies that I believe are trading at a 40-50% discount to my estimated value. As an engineer and former plant manager, I look to gain insight into a company's value through my interest in the financial side of operations and manufacturing. After reading countless books on and around investing and suffering a bit of style creep along the way, I have settled most near the style and views of Joel Greenblatt. I think Joel is one of the most straight-forward and insightful investment guru's of the past 10-20 years. His ideas are both timeless and accessible. His record speaks for itself and he is generous in his teachings on investing and his candor about how success can be achieved if you are willing to stick with it. |
