| Introduction | I was born in New York. Shortly after, I relocated to Arizona. It was here, as my classmates would discriminate me for my heritage, that I struggled with my identity as an American. Fortunately, I was able to make friends through my excellence in chess, and became chess champion. At 13, I moved to California. My first job involved store maintenance and polishing guitars at a local music shop in Stockton. This is where I picked up the love for guitar, and eventually became a professional in the Bay Area; touring mostly in San Francisco with a rock group known as Paper Planes. Also while in NorCal, I graduated with a BA in Psychology at UC Berkeley. It was there that I discovered Olympic-style taekwondo through the UC Martial Arts Program. I earned my black belt, beginning as a white belt freshmen year. Despite my late start, fighting as a black belt, I won 11 medals in three weight classes at national, state, regional and collegiate championships. I now live back home, after traveling for business to various parts of the country and the world for a decade. My current endeavors/interests are trading, investing and introspection. |
