Introduction I graduated from Logan-Rogersville H.S., near Springfield, MO in 1991. I moved to Oklahoma to study meteorology a few years later, and met my husband at OU - he was getting his math teaching certificate. I graduated from OU in 2000, and started my career as a weather officer in the Air Force. My last assignment was at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, where I was the weather station commander. I was involved in numerous operations in Europe, Africa, Iraq, and Afghanistan, including several humanitarian missions. I decided to leave the military to be a stay-at-home mom for a while. Just before I got out in the summer of 2005, life threw me a big blow...I had breast cancer! It's amazing how God works. After six years and six surgeries, I'm doing great. I met another young survivor - Molly Fritch - and together we created SHOUT to support young women with cancer. I'm also involved in several projects in Oklahoma to improve support for other cancer patients and to increase awareness and early detection. I returned to school to become a nurse, with plans to work in cancer care. I'm proof that even through tough stuff like cancer, all things do work together for good!
