| Introduction | As a western NC native, Chan did not begin outdoor pastimes until age thirteen. Kayaking is now Chan's passion and has allowed him to see many beautiful places in a way few people are able to experience. His current focus in boating is creek boating though he is a multi-time USA Canoe/Kayak Team member, 2006 National Wildwater Champion (Jr), and two-time Wildwater World Championship competitor. Now in college, pursuing his Bachelor's degree and a career as a Registered Nurse, Chan spends as much time as he can outdoors kayaking, climbing, or backpacking. As an addition to these activities, Chan now does photography. Though his experience is very limited in this area, some of his work has been featured on the home page of Canoe/Kayak Magazine's web site.
