| Introduction | For some time. my husband Gary and I drove many miles tracking down and visiting the locations of American memorials in Norfolk and Suffolk, England. During the Second War, our area was covered with American and British air bases, from which our young men flew into danger every day. In the 2nd Air Division alone there were nearly 7000 lives lost. Only 1 in 3 crewmen returned alive. The average age was 20. I am American myself, and Gary was English. I was the Historian for my chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution for several years, and I am very happy to be able to join that Society in its goal of Education, Patriotism and Historic Preservation. Although I'm not on the road very much these days, when I do find something new I'll post it here. I hope you find the information useful. |
