| Introduction | In 2013 my husband of almost 30 years and I unloaded most of our possessions and moved to Ecuador, seeking a simpler life. "Write a blog!" urged friends. Then came painful, unexpected divorce and a move to Mexico where one of my two sons and I renovated an old property, made a home for an elderly aunt, and launched his guitar-making business. A public-spirited psychiatric nurse specialist since 1976, I reflect here on my continuing education, with nods to experiences in Africa, Haiti...and elsewhere. |
