Introduction | Formerly known as ulitave, formerly known as Whorizontal, Andy Johnson is a Kimbilio Fellow in African American Fiction. He writes fiction, non-fiction, and the occasional book review. He taught West African Anglophone Literature and composition at Cuttington University (Liberia), where he was a Visiting Expatriate Assistant Professor in English under a contract from USAID. His two years working with former child soldiers, college students, and teachers form the basis of his upcoming novel, Small Small. Andy teaches composition, literature, and creative writing at The University of Alabama. In addition, he directs the UA in Zanzibar Study Abroad program. Andy also coordinates literary events for the Dinah Washington Cultural Arts Center and volunteers at local schools in Tuscaloosa. |
