Introduction	History viewed from a single view point, doesn't tell the full story. This blog is to give another view point to events which occurred near the time of the Cane Creek, Hickman County, Tennessee "Shoot Out". General Sidney Johnston, from South Carolina, prior to the Civil War, had been sent to Utah, to watch over the Mormon Community. The Mormons under Brigham Young were going to form their own nation. Under the direction of Brigham Young they had begun to settle colonies for this purpose thoughout the west. The events around the Mountain Meadow murders were not known for sometime, the Civil War taking away attention to the massacre, as soliders were recalled home to fight the war between the states.
