| Introduction | We said we would never move from our beloved 1892 gingerbread Victorian home that has been ours for more than 16 years. However, we also never thought that our new home would ever be available for purchase, either. Welcome to our voyage as we begin once again to make this house our home! Our "new" 1905 brick Victorian was designed in the shape of a turn-of-the-century steamboat by its original family, the Stokes. Captain Stokes was the treaurer for Harriman's first steamboat company. In fact, there were two more prominent families who owned our home it its early days, the Tarwater and Browder families. Please come on board with us as we lovingly restore her to her former beauty and bring her into the 21st century. |
