About me

Industry Arts
Occupation Fine Artist and Instructor
Location Austin, Texas, United States
Introduction I consider myself fortunate to have lived in some of the most beautiful places on earth including Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Durango, Colorado, Kayenta, AZ, Oahu HI, and now central Texas. I graduated from Fort Lewis College in Durango CO, and took my first teaching job on the Navajo Reservation near Monument Valley many years ago. While at Fort Lewis College, I studied with noted painter, Stanton Englehart, who will be an eternal influence on my work. The memory of the redrock landscape of the Southwestern United States, from the four corners up to the mountains of Colorado is permanately etched in my brain. I now work with acrylics, and most recently, Chroma Archival Oils and am a teaching artist for Chroma. I paint botanical abstraction, imaginary landscape and water in response to the many environments I have experienced, and loved. My work is about capturing my feelings about the beauty I experience in nature than the strict representation reality. Thank you for viewing my work!
