Introduction	The Purple Sage is a difficult thing to explain. Whether there ever was such a man, or whether he (or sometimes she) has only been a name assumed by itinerant would-be philosophers, the usually cryptic and apparently often-nonsensical writings of the Aubergine Philosopher(s) have been cause for study for just about nobody, from his first appearances among Sufi mystics on the early Caliphate to bathroom walls today. Let's change this.
