| Introduction | I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Geology in the School of Earth and Environment in the College of Science and Math at Rowan University, a paleoceanographer and paleoclimatologist, and the founder of the TROPIC lab. We study tropical climate variability on human, millennial, and glacial-interglacial timescales, focusing on the El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO), the largest source of interannual climate variability on planet Earth. We analyze the geochemical signals in deep-sea sediments to gain insight into past ocean conditions. These records of past ocean changes help us better understand the relationship between ENSO and global climate variability and give us clues about future climate states. |
