| Introduction | Here I am, newly-married and living in Panama with my husband who is a Foreign Service Officer. It was once my dream to be an Ambassador, when I was too naive to know what that even meant. But I started University ambitiously on the International Relations track, only to discover (I thought) that I hated Washington, hated the political ladders, and hated, well, politics in general. I ended up transferring, to study Cultural Anthropology in a small College. I held on dearly to a relationship with my best friend - the man who was indeed studying IR at my original school, in hopes of joining the Foreign Service - who became my husband 9 years later. So, here we are. Married and in the Foreign Service. |
