| Introduction | I co-direct a small company in Manchester, UK that designs electronic products. The recent and ongoing financial crisis has been a wake-up call for me. Being blissfully ignorant of the financial world, I was shocked to see huge debts suddenly being piled on to the taxpayers. Anxious for more information I trawled through various blogs and finance websites, but it was blatantly obvious that most people did not understand the financial world and were unable to protest in an informed manner. My objective with this blog is to help people understand what is happening and provide the hard data needed to protest against the gross increase in power that the Financial Class (big banks) has over democratically elected governments. Clearly, the modern world would not function without banks and other financial institutions, but what we don't need is a Financial Class that has the power to sway whole governments, manipulate markets and threaten sovereign solvency. |
