| Introduction | Spending a large percentage of his youth in the mountains of California – where his days were spent exploring an endless succession of creeks, streams, rivers and lakes, J DeVereS developed a deep love and respect for Nature. At the same time his creative imagination drove him to seek the “what if” regions of thought - ultimately leading to concept of “Nature Plus Studios” – scenes which capture the beauty of Nature - Plus a touch more… It is the artists' intent to create "healing art" - scenes intended to restore, replenish and rejuvenate the body, mind, heart, soul and spirit. Through each image he seeks to capture some aspect of life and nature that sings to the soul. “The measures I apply to art are simple: does it have passion, does it inspire, does it have symmetry, does it tell a story, does it capture life (as seen with either the eye or the heart…), does it make you smile, laugh or cry - and – ultimately – does it touch your soul?” J DeVereS |
