Learning Life
My blogs
| Interests | I am so excited to share my ideas about teaching and exploring the Washington, D.C. area. I am from Bedford, Virginia- a tiny town literally at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains. I'm a Triple-Hoo. I studied English, Education, and School Leadership and Supervision at the University of Virginia, and teaching is one of my greatest passions. Our family lives in the "Little City" of Falls Church, and I love living in an area that is walkable and close to so many fantastic parks, museums, restaurants, etc. Right now my days are filled with school and play for my kids- ages 1, 4, and 7. While this pandemic has changed our lives so much (limited travel, time in school, and time indoors with friends), we continue to make the best of every day. I am so grateful that I was able to take two years of leave after the birth of my son Gabe in 2019. I have learned over the years how to prioritize my time as a teacher and as a wife, mother, and friend. Being able to focus on my children through this extended leave has only made me a better teacher. I know that I will return to the classroom this fall with a renewed energy for my students, and I am grateful that my school system values its teachers and provides this option. One of the best things about teaching is hearing from former students. Please reach out if you're a former Chesterbrook Chipmunk to let me know how you are and where you are! My first group of fifth graders are now adults in their mid-twenties! You can find my social media for teaching at the following: Twitter: @cbnavarr0 Instagram: @mrs_navarr0 |
