| Introduction | My life experiences have been a microcosm of competing paradigms and my attempt to reconcile seemingly incongruent truths. My story is one of sweeping upward mobility, and its deep and enigmatic sociological implications. I grew up in the impoverished neighborhoods of North Fort Worth, Texas, while my family attended a fundamentalist Pentecostal Church. During my early years I was immersed in what is arguably the most evangelical and rigidly conservative form of Chrisian thought. Years later, we relocated to a largely middle class populated suburb of West Fort Worth. There, I became one of the only people to graduate from high school in my entire family. I would later go on to become a first generation college student, and would complete a B.S. and M.S. in Biology, with an emphasis in Molecular Biology and a minor in Biblical Studies. This blog is the outflow of conclusions formed in my years of processing various voices in Theology and Biological Science. It is my evolving attempt to gain truth and meaning, in spite of the cultural cost. |
