| Introduction | As of today, June 16, 2010, I am a 59 year-old mom, grandma, aunt and sister, to name a few. I'm still in my wheel chair biting the bit to get out of it. Around late 1994 my immune system attacked my spine at the T-7-8 level leaving me partial paraplegic. 15 years now! It turned out to be a diagmosis of Transverse Myelitis. I lost my ability to walk over a few weeks. Scary. I never recovered. Some go into total paralysis so I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. Only 1 in 1 million people get Transverse Myelitis. I really would have prefered to win the big lotto with those kind of odds. I'm stubburn and maybe too independent. Maybe if I act a little more helpless more people would give me a break. It's good to be independent. The challenge is "challenging". Oh, well. |
| Interests | Waking up in the morning alive (kidding), Anything that gives me an adrenalin rush, jumping from planes, trying to get my license to fly my own plane, white-water rafting, swimming, doing make believe, pretending I'm in the Olympics, water surfing, trying to walk someday, owning a super charged electric scooter that would go maybe 30-50 MPH and gets to wherever I'm going fast..., witout the battery running out..always a bummer, feel the breeze in my hair, ride horses, have some fun in life, be able to share all of this with my grandkids...love you guys, convince my beautiful daughters-in-law that I really am not crazy, just eccentric...I love you both, (my two handsome sons learned a long time to just shine me on, humor me), I love em! Couldn't be happier with them in my life. Love my friends. They are a huge part of my life. Well, those are some of my interests. |
