| Introduction | I am a 20 year old student. I work a blue-collar job in an industry that tends to lean to the right politically. I was raised by my conservative parents in a number of different countries. They both have an extensive background in the oil industry. I grew up in a large house without any true worries. I have never voted in any election, and I don’t plan to. While I have grown up surrounded by conservative teachings, I find myself leaning to the left, and while I might consider myself slightly liberal, I am very aware of the insanity that both sides can possess. The reason I joined this class (and subsequently created this blog) is because I am finding myself to be rather apathetic towards things that do not pertain to me. Perhaps when the course is complete, I will have a better attitude about all things political. Who knows, I might even vote. Although I wouldn’t hold my breath. |
