| Introduction | Salut! My name is Esther and I am originally from Burkina Faso (West Africa). I am a MACOM student at HPU since Fall 2009. Before coming to Hawaii I was the manager of an international contemporary dance company, Salia ni Seydou, that travels on the five continents. Few years before leaving the company, I became the first female manager of the first Choreographic Development Center (CDC - La Termitiere) that was created in partnership with the government of Burkina Faso, the city of Ouagadougou, and the French Embassy. This type of partnership between the civil society, the public Administration, and foreign technical partners was the first of its kind on the African continent, specifically in the cultural and artistic domain. Talking about hobbies, I like music, movies, writing, and travel. I have already traveled in more than 20 countries in Africa (North, South, West, and Central) and Europe. I also like foreign languages. In addition to French, my native language and English, my second language, I studied German and Spanish. A bientot! |
