Introduction	I am a biologist with a soft spot for reptiles, a restless traveller, a scientist with the vision that adventure, just as science, means nothing without letting the world know. So I strive to be a storyteller also, bringing you stories from the scientific world that amaze me and hopefully you too. I am Dutch and inherited all the open-minded, stubborn, adventurous and down-to-earth qualities that Holland is known for. A last-minute heart-to-heart with myself resulted in me ditching the plan to become a vet and study Biology instead. After a BSc Biology at Utrecht University and a MSc Conservation Biology at DICE (University of Kent) I travelled Africa, Europe where I've met incredible scientists with visionary research and eventually ended up in Australia where I am still. This was quite intentionally. After all.. I have a soft spot for reptiles.
