Introduction I gratuated from West Point in 1968. I served in Germany in the only airborn/mechanized brigade in the army. Went to Vietnam after flight school. While there I was stationed in Pleiku, flying Chinook helicopters. After finishing my service commitment, I went to graduate school at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. In 1978 I accepted a job in the civil engineering department at Union College. I've been at Union ever since. I'm happily married to Gretchen. Between us we have an extended family of five children and four grandchildren. I have been back to Vietnam three times since the conflict. This is the second time I have led the term abroad. I hope through this blog you can see what a beautiful and exciting country Vietnam is today. If any Vietnam veterans read this blog, I encourage you to visit Vietnam to see how warm and accepting the Vietnamese people are.
