I'm someone who, to quote the late and great Rich Mullins, is fast approaching the place "where I'm lost enough to let myself be led." In five years, I hope to be able to look back on who I am today and realize what a fool I am. In ten years, I hope to be able to look back on the person that I will be in five years and realize what a fool I will become. It profits not a man to gain the world if he lose his soul. With that in mind, I strive every day of my life to please God, and only to please others insofar as this is pleasing to God. This means that I strive to be a witness to the truth, even if it brings me into conflict with those who are offended by the truth. I consider it infinitely better to be cursed in the light of truth than to be praised in a darkness of lies... |
