Introduction My mother had no fancy job and never attended college but she was the smartest and most interesting person I knew. She lived for those moments when words strung together in a book, opened new worlds, and produced profound emotions and revelations. Inheriting my mother's passion has made me an eclectic and prolific reader who is often asked for book recommendations (beyond the bestsellers, trade fiction, and book club selections). I have created this blog as a response to those requests and look forward to feedback, whether positive or negative.
