Introduction MBA/MA in International Development Candidate,Clark University. Although at times I have found elements of the business and development fields irreconcilable, in the value often placed on numbers rather than lives, I have found strength in the intersection of development and economics, international health and public policy, both with an immense ability to empower individuals, to allow mobility and access to resources. A personal mentor of mine often challenges me to view economics in a new lens, discussing candidly a mode of business in which children, rather than return on investment, were global impact indicators. A world in which our humanity was inextricably bound to our neighbors in the Global South. These insights as well as many other experiences have been the catalyst for my graduate studies and vocational pursuit of a career in international development.
