| Introduction | Hi! My name is Rachel Alonzo. I am a Kidney Cancer Survivor. I have shared my cancer experience through a newsletter that began with the recovery of KC(kidney cancer) in 2001. After receiving so many visits, well wishes, cards, flowers, and support from family and friends, and while still recovering in a hospital bed at home, with a pillow on my lap. While I was about to start writing out thank you cards to all, the idea of a newsletter came to mind! I could say thank you to all those that have shown so much support and love to my family. This newsletter will document my recovery of a cancer not often heard of. It will also include positive thoughts and poems, healthy tips, and other personal stories of triumph through a difficult experience. I will call it "Rachel's Gift," my gift of thanks to you! We began with 40 recipients and progressed to over 175 recipients free of charge! There have been many people that have contributed towards the continuation of the newsletter through the years.
