| Introduction | My name is Derrick Choi. I am currently 16 years old and I study at Phillips Academy Andover in Massachusetts. I will be heading into my third year at Andover this September. Swimming is my main extracurricular activity. I have been a competitive swimmer for about thirteen years, and I now train about five to seven times a week. I am currently a member of the varsity swimming team at school. We recently won the New England Swimming Championship in early March. As a former member of the Hong Kong swimming team, I have won about 500 medals and trophies, and have broken 70 records Swimming has helped me build a strong body and mind. I also play waterpolo as I am a member of the Hong Kong waterpolo team. I also run track in the spring. I am not only a sports person. I play the clarinet. I once came first in the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival Clarinet competition. I was a member of my high school's wind orchestra my freshman year at Andover and will rejoin the team following year. I am also quite involved at school. I am a member of a lot of clubs and societies. I am a board member of two of the most prestigious newspapers and magazines at school including the famous Phillipian. |
