Introduction	John Sharpe is a native Coloradoan, coming from a family of ranchers, miners and lawmen with a couple of teachers thrown in for extra credit. He spent several years in the magazine publishing business where he honed his writing skills and increased his knowledge of the livestock industry. During his magazine days he won several national awards for editorial excellence, ad design and photography. He brings all those skills to his writing. And growing up in a gold mining and ranching community John knows his characters. Hell, some think he’s one. Even if you’ve never been west, saddled a horse or thrown a lariat Sharpe’s writing makes you feel like you’re there and one of the hands.
Interests	My main interest is the American West. I've driven the roads, ridden the ranches and smelled the pine, sage, alfalfa and mesquite. I've drank with the characters and cooked over their open fires. I've branded the calves and herded the bulls. I love it all.
Favorite movies	Only one: Lonsome Dove.
Favorite music	Most music if it doesn't yell or scream.
