| Introduction | I did not choose the world of visual art, it chose me. My artwork is ever evolving into new and interesting ways. I am constantly in an experimental stage because I paint with my heart; therefore, I am never quite sure what will be unleashed next. I like to have fun with my work and turn the mundane into a wishful utopia. My favorite subject is landscapes from the real to the far out surreal. I find no greater inspiration than the work of Mother Nature on “our” planet and beyond. I like to start with a rather ordinary scene; give it my own little twist and charge it up with color. I find a strong emotional connection to letting the painting go in any direction it chooses to go. I paint only to please my inner self. I enjoy releasing my emotions on abstract paintings. Those paintings are done in a flurry, painting with only raw emotions guiding me. In contrast to the structure of my lifelike works, the abstracts start with no plan. I enjoy working with the versatility afforded by acrylics. I have been a professional artist for 12 years and have written and illustrated my own children’s book. I am an artist; author, illustrator, and I dabble in sculpture. My hobby is photography. |
