| Introduction | I'm Erin! I have two of the best jobs in the whole world. I'm a mom to two beautiful and brilliant daughters (I admit I'm biased, but only a little). And I'm an optometrist. All those "O" jobs can get kind of confusing sometimes, so I'll try to explain. As an optometrist, I am an "eye doctor" who provides primary care for vision and eye health. Versus ophthalmologists who are also "eye doctors," but they go to medical school and then on to specialize in eyes. Then there are opticians who make and dispense glasses and contact lenses. Oh, and I certainly don't deliver your babies--those are obstetricians. As much as I love helping people see, being a mom is just the best. And I WAY underestimated how hard it would be to balance work and family! My blog is about chasing the unicorn of balancing a professional career while trying to be the mom I want to be. |
