Introduction	Two 40-something women: DS works in construction with cabinet-making and framing experience, I am a desk-jockey by day, but also with reno experience, research and planning abilities. We both have a desire to reduce our carbon footprint and be as self-sufficient as possible, all on a budget. Our plans for our future retirement 'homestead' include microhydro, solar space heating, and a guest cottage, to name only a few.
