| Introduction | Here in the breathtaking mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania, surrounded by woodlands and farm fields, I've bred, trained and exhibited German Shepherds for nearly thirty years. After finishing several AKC Champions and obedience title holders under the kennel name Hollow Hills, I expanded into full-German bloodlines under the kennel suffix “vom hohlen Huegel”. Besides the German Shepherds, I live with Rat Terriers, Abyssinian cats, a Canadian horse, a few dozen chickens, and foxes, coyotes, bear, turkey, woodcock, harriers, woodchucks, and whitetails that meander in from the woods. To my passion for animals I bring an artistic flair and a biologist's eye for detail. I love watching dogs be dogs or horses be horses, and have gleaned incalculable insights from these observations. Armed with a Canon 50-D camera, I strive to capture those moments when the animal's essence is expressed. Even more, I love drawing or painting portraits that entwine physical beauty with innate characteristics to depict each animal’s essential self. I hope this space provides a place to share our mutual appreciation of the other creatures of our world. |
