| Introduction | I consider myself as someone who has experienced some fascinating international employment and travel that blurred my European nationality; riding horses competitively and owning dogs taught me to respect the friendship and patience of animals; flying sailplanes, and aerospace science, made me look at the sky instead of my feet; today, cycling keeps me fit; professional writing developed my admiration for linguistics and the ability to instruct others in the beauty of language. In fact, my life has been enriched by teaching others most, if not all, of the wonderful things that I have learnt. If only the other parts of my story could be told. |
