| Introduction | Now that I am retired one of my main goals is to use my experience with physics and engineering to contribute to ideas on reducing carbon emissions. Engineering is arguably one of the most creative of pursuits whereby one aims to achieve the optimum solutions and then goes further by aiming to get the best of both "worlds". Science and engineering can thus be used creatively to provide solutions that are to the benefit of all. A good example :- heat pumps from the manufacturing level, the optimum installation and the careful use by the consumer to minimise consumption and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. |
