Introduction | I am a Christian, a Calvinist, and a deacon in a Reformed Baptist church (2d London Baptist Confession). I am retired from the practice of law and have an interest in theology (particularly reformed theology) and logic. Also see my blog posts labeled About Me. |
Interests | Theology, chess, logic, writing, movies, weight-lifting, and much more. |
Favorite Movies | Lord of the Rings trilogy; Contact (Jodie Foster); Gattaca; The Truman Show (Jim Carrey); The Great Escape (Steve McQueen, and a great cast); Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, the Pixar movies. One of the funniest movies I've ever seen (apart from Monty Python and the Holy Grail) is It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World. |
Favorite Music | Good music. |
Favorite Books | I often find myself reading technical material relating to my interests. I would rather hear a story than read one, so I know more about movies than literature (if you insist on distinguishing between them). But here is my list: The Lord of the Rings (see movies); Shelby Foote's marvelous Civil War trilogy; the Jeeves & Wooster books of the incomparable P. G. Wodehouse; The Great Gatsby; Our Town (do plays count?); August 1914. I like science fiction, and the best from that genre is Battlefield Earth (I know, I know). |
Chicken monkey shoes?
I am supposed to answer a "random" question. And this one truly appears to me to be random. The question is "Chicken monkey shoes?" I can derive no meaning from that question and any answer to it would be equally meaningless. But I will try for one: 3.14159265358 Quine.
