Introduction The outdoors is where I draw the most energy from, where I feel closest to God, and where I feel most at peace. I grew up on a small farm in Waunakee, WI. In 1985, I was in a car accident which left me with a C5/6 spinal cord injury. It was frustrating not knowing what to do with myself. I pursued a degree in education and dealt with life the best I knew how. In 1993, I took an accessible sailing lesson. I felt like I was truly living! It wasn’t so much the sailing, but the experience of being out in the elements and stretching my limits that made me feel alive. I coordinated that program and loved getting others out there to experience the thrill of sailing like I did. After that I tried anything I could like swimming, hand cycling, hang-gliding, archery, downhill skiing and kayaking. I most recently took up fishing, shooting, & hunting and am loving it! I’m passionate about getting people out to explore their own abilities any way I can. I help organize adaptive outdoor events and give talks on adapted recreation. I'm also a writer for The Disabled Hunter Magazine.
Interests shooting, archery, hunting, fishing, kayaking, hand cycling, reading, cooking, college basketball & football, learning to hunt, exploring the outdoors anyway I can!
