| Introduction | Hello and welcome to my blog! I will be using this space to help document the process and progress of the Oberlin Project being undertaken by the Historian Craft Class at Huron University College. We will primarily be working with letters written by Hiram Wilson, we traveled to Oberlin College in Ohio to document these letters for later transcription and use in our project. Which, it is hoped, will help increase awareness, as well as preserve and allow greater access, to the valuable information conveyed in his correspondence to individuals at Oberlin College during the mid-19th century. We would also like to shed light upon Wilson's actions in South Western Ontario to help further abolition and his aid to former slaves. I am a 4th year student at the University of Western Ontario, doing an Honours Double Major in Anthropology and History. It is my hope to work in the public history and archaeology fields following my graduate work. |
