| Introduction | A "southernized-Hawaiian" is what a sheltered island girl becomes after moving to the southeastern United States. To say I experienced culture shock is an understatement, but after living here for almost 14 years, I have to say I'm pretty well adapted (though I will always miss the ocean!). I work for a large electrical utility in the Financial Services group for Information Technology and absolutely love my job. I thought I would be starting grad school soon, but plans drastically changed once we learned of our new addition. I am madly in love with Brian, my husband of almost 12 years, whose wit, charm, sense of humor, and gorgeous hazel eyes captured my heart in the most unlikeliest of circumstances. Our little family will be expanding to three later this summer. |

| Favorite books | Having been consumed with school (and thus textbooks) the past 4-1/2 years, I insisted on reading nothing but novels this summer (over 20 of them in fact!). Harlan Coben quickly became a favorite author in addition to Tom Clancy and John Grisham. I told myself I'd get into "meatier" stuff this fall...I plan to begin with Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. |
