Introduction | Born in Cincinnati, Ernest Disney-Britton is the son of a factory foreman and a public school teacher. My first job, post-college graduation, was at an African American arts organization, the Arts Consortium of Cincinnati. A decade later, I joined the leadership team at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center's campaign to raise $110 million. In 2022, I retired as Vice President of the Arts Council of Indianapolis, where I managed a $10 million grantmaking portfolio. After a 38-year career in arts administration, including foundation work in NYC, I moved to Key West, spending time reading, writing, and cataloging my collection of contemporary religious art. |
