| Introduction | I suppose its pretty obvious that I have a bit of an interest in all things Megalithic! I think it would be fair to expand that to say that I have a bit of a passion for all things ancient, but particularly ancient Irish things. It amazes me that the Megaliths dotted around Ireland are 5000+ years old, that they are still standing and that any one of us can walk across a few fields or hike up the side of a mountain to see them. I am fascinated by their size, the effort involved in erecting most of them and the purpose and meaning they held for those that build them. I decided to write this blog to share some of the ones that I have visited with those of you that are interested. Im not an expert and Ill happily stand corrected so feel free to comment. |
